The Makita DLX3049P kit is a heavy duty triple pack suitable for the tradesman and comprises of the DHS710 Twin 18v circular saw, DHR264 Twin 18v rotary hammer and the DTD152 Single 18v impact driver, also included is a choice of batteries and the DC18RD twin 18v charger that charges 2 batteries simultaneously plus 3 x MakPac cases and inlays to store all the tools.

The DHR264 rotary hammer drill is a 36v drill that is powered by 2 x 18v batteries connected in series, it features a quick change chuck that is bayonet fitted and can be quickly changed from the SDS+ chuck to the high quality all metal 3 jaw chuck that is supplied as standard. This is a 3 function machine that performs rotary hammer drilling for concrete and masonry, rotary only mode for wood, steel and plastic and hammer only mode for chiselling. Other features include battery power indicator, LED light with afterglow and a comfortable rubber grip with vibration absorbing handle.

The DHS710 is a 36v circular saw that is powered by 2 x 18v batteries connected in series and features a 190mm TCT saw blade. Weighing just 4.7kg it is lighter than most corded circular saws and has a maximum depth of cut of 68.5mm at 90°. A large lever makes depth adjustment simple and bevel cuts up to a maximum of 50° can be achieved with a positive stop at 45°. The base and blade guard are from strong but lightweight die-cast magnesium and will not bend in normal use and a fence is supplied for parallel cutting. Other features include an ergonomic handle with rubberised grips for better control, a safety switch to prevent accidental operation, a blower to keep the cutting line clear from debris for better visibility and a spindle lock for easy blade change.

The Makita DTD152 is a cordless impact driver designed for tightening/undoing all types of fasteners and has an impressive maximum torque of 165Nm. Lightweight and well balanced this unit is ideal for single handed use and features a rubberised grip for superior control, twin LED lights illuminate the work area and a ¼” single sleeve chuck allows for rapid bit change. The variable speed trigger is ergonomically positioned with the forward/reverse lever easily accessible by the thumb and forefinger. An electronic brake stops rotation almost immediately the trigger is released and being part of the 18v Lithium-Ion family this unit accepts all Li-ion batteries 1.5Ah to 5Ah and has built in battery protection to protect from overload and high temperature. The DTD152 has a high maximum rotation speed of 2,900rpm and fixing capacities of M5-M16 bolts and will comfortably drive large screws into hardwoods without pilot drilling.
